PA State Library Visit
Thursday, May 11, 2023. 1:30-3:30pm in Harrisburg, PA

***This event is currently full; we also are no longer taking anyone on the waiting list for this event.***

Join us on a short walk to see the heart of Pennsylvania's Capitol and visit the State Library of Pennsylvania, with its vast collection of materials by, for and about Pennsylvania. We'll meet at the hotel, and enjoy a view of the Pennsylvania Capitol building and landscape on the way to the Library.

At the State Library, participants will learn about the State Library’s resources and services, including law, genealogy and STEM programming. The visit will include highlights from the Rare Collections, where significant items relating to information literacy and the history of the book will be highlighted.

On the return trip to the hotel, we will walk through the Capitol building's rotunda, a National Historic Landmark, designed by architect Joseph Hurston, who envisioned the building as a “Palace of Art.”
