Thanks to everyone who submitted a proposal!

Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal for the LOEX 2018 Conference.

In a state perhaps known best for its oil fields, barbecue, and cowboy boots, the city of Houston also serves as a lodestar for diversity, scholarship, and culture. This thriving metropolis is an innovation leader in medicine, space exploration, art and cuisine, and thus the perfect location to explore uncharted territory. Home to the Johnson Space Center Mission Control, which NASA used for many of its manned space exploration endeavors, Houston has inspired generations to push their boundaries and to reach for the stars. In the spirit of “Space City”, let’s go where no librarian has gone before, walk into the expanse of the unknown, and capture what it means to be innovators and explorers in the new frontiers of information literacy.

We invite you to Houston for LOEX 2018 to showcase your innovations in library instruction.

Here are descriptions of available sessions and submission instructions:

Breakout Sessions: Traditional presentations and interactive workshops. As in previous years, these sessions will make up the large majority of the conference program (an estimated 50-60 sessions). Breakout Session proposals are due Friday, November 17, 2017. [deadline has passed].

Lightning Talks: Short (seven minutes maximum) presentations given during a single session by different presenters. There will only be a handful (approximately five) of these presentations as they are intended to be an energizing, but small, part of the conference. Lightning Talk proposals are due Friday, January 19, 2018. [deadline has passed].

Poster Sessions: Students currently enrolled in a graduate program in library and information sciences along with librarians in resident or intern programs are invited to propose poster sessions. Poster Session proposals are due Monday, January 29, 2018. [deadline has passed].
