Pre-Conference Social Activity (Optional)
Join us on Thursday afternoon as we visit The Chrysler Museum of Art. Founded in 1933, the museum is home to more than 50 galleries and a renowned collection of over 35,000 works spanning centuries of art and culture, including one of the world’s best glass collections. Two special exhibitions will be on display in May: Architects of Being: Louise Nevelson and Esphyr Slobodkina and Imperial Colors: Chinese Glass at the Chrysler Museum.
We'll meet at the hotel and then board a shuttle bus (courtesy of Old Dominion University's MLIS Program) to make a short 5 minute trip over to the museum.
- Once we disembark, we will make our way to the museum library, where at 1:30pm the museum's librarian will provide a 20-30 minute “behind the scenes” tour of the museum library, with a show and tell of rare items in the collections.
- This will be followed at 2:00pm by a “Meet the Museum” tour. If you would like to participate, please gather at the museum welcome desk slightly before 2:00pm.

The museum is free and open to the public. Participants are welcome to visit and browse the collections independently anytime.
