LOEX Code of Conduct

At conferences, whether online or in-person, LOEX is committed to providing a positive, worthwhile experience for all participants, and expects all involved to show respect and courtesy toward one another at conference and conference-related events.
We do not tolerate harassment in any form. Harassment is understood as any behavior that threatens another person or group, or produces an unsafe environment. It includes offensive verbal comments or non-verbal expressions related to race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, physical appearance, ethnicity, nationality, religion or any other group identity.
LOEX has a designated Code of Conduct Committee. If at any time, an attendee feels that they have been harassed or that this code of conduct has been breached, it is important that this person report it to a member of the LOEX Code of Conduct Committee, which consists of the two LOEX local committee chairs and the LOEX Director.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund.
