In August 2009 the Ohio State University Thompson Library reopened after a $109 million renovation that has revitalized the Thompson Library as a central focus of academic life at Ohio State. The Thompson Library’s opening in 2009 capped years of planning during a time of unprecedented change in librarianship and information technology.

Come see and hear about this project from those who made it happen, including campus planners, the project architect, and project managers. Watch this video for a sneak preview!

The program will include:

I.    An introduction to the project – Wes Boomgaarden, Thompson Library Project Manager (OSU Libraries)

II.  Panel discussion:
Laura Shin – Director of Planning (OSU)
Pete Confar – Architect (Acock Associates Architects)
Scott Conlon – Director of Projects, Facilities Operations and Development (OSU)

III. Tours of the Building

Transportation between the conference hotel and Thompson Library and light refreshments will be provided.

Registration is free but required; current limit is 60 participants (but very likely can be expanded if required).

This preconference is sponsored by the Ohio State University Libraries.
