2:00-3:00pm: Guided Tour of University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA)

The University of Michigan Museum of Art seeks to transform individual and civic life by promoting the discovery, contemplation, and enjoyment of the art of our world. Join us for a tour of UMMA, one of the finest university art museums in the country! UMMA contains a comprehensive collection that represents more than 150 years of history, with over 20,000 works of art that span cultures, eras, and media.

 

3:00-4:00pm: Guided Tour of the Clements Library

The William L. Clements Library on the campus of the University of Michigan, collects, preserves, and makes available historical resources about the Americas, with particular strengths in 18th and 19th-century American history. We invite LOEX attendees to a special behind the scenes tour featuring materials from our archives. Discover why researchers come from all over the world to study our collections of original handwritten and printed materials.  

Please note U-M buildings will require guests to show a passed ResponsiBlue screening to enter.

Logistics

1:30pm:                     Depart from Hotel
2:00pm - 4:00pm:    Tour
4:30pm:                     Arrive back at Hotel

LOEX will provide free transportation the conference hotel lobby to/from Ann Arbor. The type of transportation (e.g., bus; shuttle; car service) will be determined, based in part upon the number of registrants, at a later date. Attendees may also drive themselves and meet up with the group at UMMA.

For those who wish to stay longer than 3:00pm at UMMA, you may continue to visit the museum & galleries on your own. If you wish to return to the hotel with group, you must be in front of the Clements Library at no later than 4:00pm.
