Creating online research guides, video tutorials and other online library instruction is becoming an increasingly important way for librarians to provide essential instruction to their students. How can librarians assure that these online learning objects are accessible and usable to all students?
In this preconference, the Instructional Design team from the University of Minnesota Libraries will engage participants in exploring the core principles, skills and best practices of universal, instructional and graphic design used in online library instruction. We will share, compare and apply best practices for some authoring and accessibility tools used to create library tutorials and guides. Finally, we will work together to apply what we learned to create a good-looking, usable, accessible and unforgettable online learning object.
